We Center Black Life Through Authentic Storytelling

In the Wake Media is a worker-owned cooperative redefining what Black media can be. Founded in 2022 and headquartered in Newark, NJ, we're building a new model for cultural storytelling—one rooted in community ownership, digital equity, and unapologetic authenticity. We're not here to chase algorithms or compromise our vision for venture capital. We're here to tell our stories, our way.
